A Day of “N” & A Day of “O”
Our N-Day Monday started lousy enough. Some Numskull irresponsibly allowed his Jack-Russell to roam the Neighborhood and terrorize Nice people like us. Suffice it to say, 5 people were frightened (3 in our family), 1 dog got bit five times (not our Sugar), 1 owner was phoned twice denying responsibilty, and finally Animal Control took over.
Mommy was not happy, and we had many conversations about it throughout the day. “Mommy, that New dog was Not Nice. . . . when will the doggie police officer come?”
Still we made Noses like Sugar’s (she was the hero of the day since she did end up putting the stray in her place in the pack.). We refused to eat Noodles. We drew Nine ‘Ns’ while we had our own “Who’s on first?” conversation. We thought about Neckties.
Oh, has “O” been so much more Ordinary. Though Isaac was reluctant to walk because of “not nice dog,” we managed to generate enough courage to tackle Outside. An Owl was kind enough to hoooot so frequently that Isaac initiated questions about it and then imagined it as a purple Owl. We carried Orange crayons in our stroller and Overstepped recently deceased but very interesting dead squirrels. We had Chicken-and-Os soup for lunch, and post-nap we’ll don O-hats and hunt for Os.
And on to “P”!

I just figured out why I love keeping up with you guys so much!! I was on Isaacs page with the videos and saw the one of Grant reading with him. Would you believe that I have a cassette tape of my Shawn at age 2 reading a book from the library called “Mr. Brimble’s…..something…I think Instruments”. We spent hours doing that and this particular book had been a favorite. I read it to him several times and then I noticed he had it basically memorized. That would have been 25 years ago. Isn’t it funny the way things never change. You guys bring back such wonderful memories for me. I waited so long to be a mother and loved it!!
I also had a special little book by Gustava Wonderly. I don’t remember the name of it but I got it from Back To The Bible Broadcast. It was there that I learned to put flashcards on the bedroom wall and point out the letters every time Shawn and I walked into his room. By the time we went to the hospital to get his sister (22 months old) he knew all but 9 of the letters and their sounds. FUN TIMES!!!
Thanks for the memories.

So. . . when you get to P, are you going to teach how to pee in the potty? *grin* I couldn’t resist.
(Btw, in our family we go wee-wee, so we’d still have to wait. . .)
