Great quotes C, and telling ones!

I signed back in the double digits. My hubby signed more recently. We both pray as you and so many others do that the current administration is ultimately willing to go a step further than previous generations have.

I've read the works of both Cal Thomas and Franky Schaffer. Thomas is a serious thinker; Franky Schaffer's rants don't belong in the same universe as Cal Thomas.

God never questioned whether other gods existed. He validated their existance in the 10 Commandments. Jesus' admonition of camels going through eyes of needles is very telling here. The more we have, the more we want, and the more "stuff" drags us away from God. The C S Lewis quote is quite telling. So many of us have forsaken the God of the Bible for the god of politics. We wrap ourselves in the flag, and proclaim how righteous we are.

The song "Turn Your Eyes upon Jesus" says it best. As Christians, we have to keep our eyes on the prize - Jesus and do what it takes to follow Christ. I've made no doubt about my political leanings either here or on FB, but I'll take the Jesus of Matthew 25 anytime - "Whatever you have done for the least of these, you have done to Me."

I see the BJU racial issue as a microcosm of all that inhibits us from living the Gospel and truly becoming the hands and feet of Christ. We have so honored tradition so that our camel will never go through the Eye of the Needle Gate, no matter how evil our tradition has been. God has indeed been with every person whom we called n......, or whatever. God has heard our words and God's heart is broken everytime we've treated a fellow human being as less than human solely based on the color of their skin.

We have bowed to the gods of power, politics and expediency in an effort to honor tradition. We have done wrong in order to have a chance to do right. Lord, have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord, have mercy.

What a great quote from CS Lewis. How did I miss that. Thank you. Very timely.

Kuo is not the only one who left the Religious Right disillusioned and frustrated. We all know about Frank Schaffer. Now Cal Thomas is talking, and he is getting vilified just as Kuo, and Schaffer were.

Camille,
Thank you, thank you, thank you, dear friend from both of us. Let us be the first to pray with you that this week will start a firestorm of repentance and healing as the Lord uses this petition for His glory!
