That school has so much to answer for, and it’s time they stopped being allowed to sweep things under the rug.

To the Jews, this meant they were no longer the chosen people hence, one of the reasons they hated Jesus and called him a heretic. To them, this is was sacrilegious for a gentile to be converted to Judaism.

Comment on Carl Sandburg, To Billy Sunday by Tom http://www.drslewis.org/camille/2011/04/06/carl-sandburg-to-billy-sunday/#comment-28151 Mon, 20 Mar 2017 05:31:03 +0000 http://www.drslewis.org/camille/?p=3253#comment-28151 You miss the point, I fear … the enormous damage done by Billy Sunday who was handsomely paid by the big thieves who used him, as they have other evangelists, to quiet the crowds of the working poor, while the mega-rich walk away with millions. The whole evangelical enterprise is corrupt to the core, twisting the gospel into an unrecognizable mess, using fear to foist upon the people lies compounded by lies … Billy Sunday was a travesty, and so are his crowd-manipulating disciples, all of whom have been used by the big thieves to further their own wealth on the backs of the Average American. Sandburg’s poem pulls back the curtain to reveal a fraud pulling the levers and making a lot of noise. That people should believe such nonsense only compounds the sorrow – a sorrow that Jesus never exploited, but a sorrow exploited to the hilt by a fraud like Sunday.

You tell them it is perfectly clear in the Bible that God made of one blood all nations but that He also fixed the bounds of their habitation…. Whenever you get a situation that rubs out the line that God has drawn between races, whenever that happens, you are going to have trouble. That is what is happening today in this country…. You can be a Christian and have fellowship with people that you would not marry and that God does not want you to marry and that if you should marry you would be marrying outside the will of God. Why can’t you see that?… When you run into conflict with God’s established order racially, you have trouble. “Is Segregation Scriptural?“ […]
