Camille, you don’t think Pensacola Christian is very, very similar to BJU? One authoritarian leader, very strict, rigid structure. Faculty/students disposed of right and left? At least that’s my take.

And how! They are from the same roots. PCC was started by BJU grads. A Beka press has been a continuous irritation to Bob Jones III too, and his main reason for starting the BJU Press.

So yes, I completely agree. That’s why I’m researching “Klandamentalism.”

If I may ask, CK, do you see yourself as being harmed by your fundamentalist rearing?

I stumbled on your site via reading about the GRACE report. I realize that as an academic you must get your share of “Here, read this”, but here, read this: “The Unintended Reformation: How a Religious Revolution Secularized Society, Jan 31, 2012, by Brad S. Gregory. An historian from Stanford, not at Notre Dame, this is one of the most compelling reads on modern American “religious” history.

You have written much, and, I take it, you have much more to write. I, for one, look forward to reading more of your “stuff.”

That should read “…now at Notre Dame…” Sorry about that.
