Okay, I’m now a Mac geek. What can I say? And since I’m the kind of user who uses shortcut keys as often as I use the mouse, I’m trying to learn all of those handy gestures for the Apple OS. Here are the ones I find myself using (and perhaps forgetting) the most:

• Navigate Tabs in Safari: Command | Shift | Arrow Keys
• Navigate Tabs in FireFox: Control | Tab
• Go to Address Bar in FireFox: Command | L

• Close active window: Command | W
• Close active application: Command | Q
• Cycle among active applications: Command | Tab
• Cycle among an application’s windows: Command | ~

• Zoom: Control | Two-finger touchpad stroke
• Navigate Zoomed Window: Control | One-finger touchpad stroke

• Negative Image: Control | Option | Command | 8
• Capture Area of Screen to Desktop: Command | Shift | 4 | select area with mouse
• Capture Area of Screen to Clipboard: Command | Shift | 4 | hold Control while selecting with mouse
• Capture Full Screen to Desktop: Command | Shift | 4 … Space Bar | Return

• Beginning/End of line: Command | Left/Right Arrow Keys
• Beginning/End of page: Command | Up/Down Arrow Keys
• Next/Previous word: Option | Left/Right Arrow Keys

(Hold Shift with above gestures to select)

• Delete character to right of cursor: Function | Delete
