[...] Ah, it’s that time of year when Mona Faye’s Kitchen is busier than ever. We’ve actually packed up our computer for a few days because there just wasn’t enough room for old-fashioned food and new-fangled falderall! We’ll be having the usual wild turkey (the real free range) and, of course, cranberry salad. [...]

Now we'rea talking ~~ it's not real booyah without the OXTAIL !!

The "Panure Family Booyah" was usually on a Sunday in late September, and the veggie chopping and cooking would start around 6 AM. Dad even had his own booyah kettle, which looked like an oil oil drum with wheels and a stove-pipe coming out the side. Relatives from all sides came over during the course of the day ... what a memory!

Oh, I LOVE red velvet cake, Red Dye and all! It was always my favorite...especially the kind my dad's secretary makes. The people who dye regular cake red just don't know the goodness that is this chocolate dessert. I do prefer the cream cheese frosting though...and pecans...it's so so rich!

Thanks for posting this...I'll have to try it out!
