I nearly teared up when I saw him snuggling the “2.” My little guy is two. Those big, big shoes and those nearly-too-long pants and, of course, the tie make him seem older. And the watch. Can’t leave home without the watch. Daddy wears one and so must we all. If Mommy isn’t wearing a watch, he wants to know why.
He opened one set of Matchbox cars and a Richard Scarry book, Cars and Truck and Things that Go. And he’s done. He’s satisfied for his birthday. I was trying to spread it out over the day, and then this now 3.5 hour nap has interfered. I have a whole big box full still. Tomorrow’s the big party with (girl) cousins and sugar highs. Today it’s just Mommy, Daddy, nearly-house-broken Sugar, and the little man.

What precious memories. And he will never forget the two most important people in his life who gave him life. You and Grant. Wow.
