Gavin’s page is all ready for content now. Hear that, son? Even Daddy’s got his cyber-ducks in a row. . . . Yoo-hoo!
I wouldn’t even mind if it’s today. I heard yesterday that the history behind the holiday is that the Jewish New Year used to be celebrated around April 1. When we all went to the Gregorian calendar and celebrated Jan 1 as the New Year, those who remained with the older tradition were called “fools.” Hmph — so it’s an Anti-Semitic thing. Now, Snopes reports this story as “undetermined.” Either way, I think the day could use a re-naming. And I have the credentials to do that, if necessary. 😉
