We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.

Wow, how appropriate in times like these, where most politicians are telling us that they need to make the decisions for us, where the privacy is for the government, not the people!
This just kills me! I finished a book a couple months ago that detailed the disasters that happen when presidents lie, and the damage that JFK did during the Cuban Missile Crisis reached all the way into the Reagan administration. For him to say something like that is gross hypocrisy.
