Lady Elaine was stunned that her self-portrait on a boomerang didn&#8217;t win. The prize was a rainbow. Ah, King Friday. . . .<\/p>\n<p>Before that, Mr. Rogers sang what has become one of my favorite Mr. Rogers&#8217; songs: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/pbskids.org\/rogers\/songlist\/song7_ra.html\">What do you do with the mad that you feel?<\/a>&#8221; It made more sense in context. Mr. Rogers was planning to make a rainbow in his home with a water bottle and a fan. It didn&#8217;t work. So he called Mr. McFeely (who has Mr. Rogers&#8217; middle name, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fci.org\/mister_rogers_neighborhood\/biography.asp\">I found out<\/a>) for advice and found out he&#8217;d planned a thing that&#8217;s wrong. I think that I actually saw Mr. Rogers slam the phone down! And then he sang his song.<\/p>\n<p>Funny thing. . . . I bit my tongue this evening at dinner, and I responded (unwittingly) like Mr. Rogers said you should when you&#8217;re mad. I pounded &#8212; not clay, but the table. Isaac thought it was a scream!<\/p>\n<p>So it&#8217;s a lesson for all of us. Mr. Rogers learned how to make a rainbow, Lady Elaine learned that boomerangs make silly canvases, Mommy learned that she had already digested Mr. Rogers&#8217; song, and Isaac learned that Mommy&#8217;s funny when she bites her tongue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, Hannah Platypus won the drawing contest in the Neighborhood of MakeBelieve.
