Last Sunday morning church painted a stark difference between a Keswick<\/a> mindset and what Scripture intends. Compare parts of these hymn texts:<\/p>\n

“Jesus Paid it All<\/a>”
\nJesus paid it all<\/strong>,
\nAll to Him I owe;
\nSin had left a crimson stain,
\nHe washed it white as snow.<\/em>And now complete<\/strong> in Him
\nMy robe His righteousness<\/strong>,
\nClose sheltered \u2019neath His side,
\nI am divinely blest.<\/p>\n

Lord, now indeed I find
\nThy power and Thine alone,
\nCan change the leper\u2019s spots
\nAnd melt the heart of stone.<\/p>\n

And when before the throne
\nI stand in Him complete<\/strong>,
\nI\u2019ll lay my trophies down
\nAll down at Jesus\u2019 feet.

\nHave I grieved Thy Holy Spirit? Have I quenched His power within?
\nIf I have, O Lord, forgive me, cleanse my heart from every sin.

\nSavior, fill me now<\/strong>.<\/em>Do I yield to sin’s allurement, having lost the power to win<\/strong>,

Lord, I come in deep contrition, yielding all I have to Thee<\/strong>,
\nMaking now a full surrender<\/strong> Thine forever would I be.

\nHear, O hear my heart’s confession; Savior, pardon, cleanse in Mercy,
\nSavior, fill me now<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“And Can It Be<\/a>”
\nNo condemnation now I dread<\/strong>;
\nJesus, and all in Him, is mine;
\nAlive<\/strong> in Him, my living Head,
\nAnd clothed in righteousness divine<\/strong>,
\nBold<\/strong> I approach th\u2019eternal throne,
\nAnd claim the crown<\/strong>, through Christ my own.
\n<\/em>
\n“Take My Life, And Let It Be<\/a>”
\nTake my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee. . . .
\nTake my will, and make it Thine; it shall be no longer mine<\/strong>.
\n<\/em>
\nIt’s no wonder we get neck spasms back and forth between two poles of absolute surrender and total redemption. I like how the pastor capped it off with this quotation from David Prior:<\/p>\n
