But it&#8217;s not so much the wardrobe, the timing, or the writing. Nothing that happened in Burbank makes me love it. It&#8217;s what happened in South Bend, Tulsa, and Warren.<\/p>\n<p>When we watched &#8220;I Love Lucy&#8221; in our living room, my parents laughed deep down. It made me feel like all was right with the world. It&#8217;s that bliss that keeps me watching the show.<\/p>\n<p>And so the torch was passed last night. Isaac watched his first &#8220;I Love Lucy&#8221; episode &#8212; &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tv.com\/i-love-lucy\/l.a.-at-last!\/episode\/17151\/summary.html\">L.A. at Last<\/a>.&#8221; He guffawed along with Mommy at the pratfalls and flaming noses. I&#8217;m still the only one who noticed the special square <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goantiques.com\/detail,fire-king-charm,1140273.html\">Fire King azurite Charm cups <\/a>Bill Holden uses in only that episode (those I aspire to collect).<\/p>\n<p>Today another bit of media tradition is preserved. Little Isaac woke up with a stomach bug. If I were to truly be my mother, I&#8217;d make a pot of chicken soup, but so far liquified jello will have to do. We do watch <em>Mary Poppins<\/em> &#8212; my favorite childhood movie &#8212; over and over. It seems to fit. Mommy, Daddy, Jane and Michael all skipping off to enjoy each other while flying a kite. It doesn&#8217;t matter that the kite&#8217;s patched and mended. It&#8217;s laughing deep down with your favorite people that matters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, I love Lucy.
