It&#8217;s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Castle-translation-based-restored-text\/dp\/0805211063\" title=\"The Castle\">the great linguistic PacMan<\/a>\u00a0that thrives off <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constitution.org\/mac\/prince00.htm\" title=\"The Prince\">the Realistic<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Emperor-Ryszard-Kapuscinski\/dp\/0679722033\" title=\"The Emperor\">the Courtly<\/a>, and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.perseus.tufts.edu\/cgi-bin\/ptext?doc=Perseus%3Atext%3A1999.02.0008\" title=\"Letters to Atticus\">the Republican<\/a>\u00a0dots, munching them like vitamins. In other words, we&#8217;re all eventually bound and gagged\u00a0by red tape. So the real\u00a0danger is not chaotic diversity, but mind-numbing, power-hungry\u00a0singularity. Goose-stepping unity is our real fear, not grass-roots chaos.<\/p>\n<p>But information, like <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0119567\/quotes\" title=\"Life will find a way.\">life<\/a>, always finds a way. It seeps, leaks, and runs. It&#8217;s messy and invigorating.<\/p>\n<p>I always thought <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/digg.com\/\" title=\"Digg\">digg<\/a> got it. But it, too, has now <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jumping_the_shark\" title=\"Jumping the shark\">jumped the shark<\/a>. <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/thebrowser.blogs.fortune.com\/2007\/05\/02\/digg-ceo-this-could-be-the-end-of-digg\/\">Their recent interview<\/a>\u00a0reveals that not only do they think they single-handedly control the messy users, but they have so beneficently gifted us with our own empowerment.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks, but no thanks, gentlemen.
