I know this is lame. It really doesn’t matter. But Isaac’s birthstone (Blue Topaz) is nearly identical to March’s (Aquamarine). If Gavin is born in March, I could pick the “alternate” birthstone of Bloodstone: “a dark green opaque quartz flecked with red spots. The name Bloodstone derives from the legendary belief that the red coloration resulted from the blood of Christ spilling onto green jasper during the crucifixion.
