It’s Ezzo Week 2006 as my dear friend TulipGirl reminds us. I’m so thankful that when I first held my wee son Isaac that my first attempts at implementing the very poor, unfounded, and unhealthy Ezzo advice were unsuccessful. Every piece of Ezzo advice proved false. And apparently, I’m not alone.
While Ezzo claims his way is God’s way, God does a much better job of setting us up for success. If you’d like to discuss it all, come on over to awareparent.net.

I wonder how many other Moms who intended to nurse well past 12 months ended up giving up after their attempts to implement Parent Directed Feeding?
I personally know 6 women, who, during the last year alone, had to give up breastfeeding well before a year. They wanted to go much longer, however. They were trying to follow Ezzo’s misinformation (lies) about lactation, nutrition and scheduling, and failed miserably at all. One of my friends was horrified to learn that not only were the lies not working for this particular baby (they “worked” for her first two) but she was inadvertently starving her baby! Her milk supply dwindled and she was not motivated to work at re-lactation. She says she feels “cheated” out of the opportunity to feed her baby – she of course had to switch to formula when the baby was around 4 months old. As I mentioned, this is just one sad story out of six women who are in my close circle of friends. And I am sure you all know at least a handful who have tried the Ezzo lies and failed. Failure comes because Ezzoism is just a messed up legalistic system. If it were truly “God’s Way” it would truly work perfectly for all of God’s children everytime, with every child.
