Headlines

One of my life’s goals is to get a submission on Jay Leno’s Headlines. I tried once with a junk mail ad for a laser removal business. It had a pic of a man who had lasered off his back hair in the shape of a heart. It didn’t make it. Soon after I saw a headline from our local paper on the show. Doh! I missed it. Probably because I don’t get the paper.

But I sense that there’s some potential in this catalog I received this afternoon. Yes. Definite potential.

  1. We had a darling, neurotic Blue Point Siamese, who was ‘near sighted’, poor thing. I always wanted to send a ‘fake letter’ to the National Perpsirer, or, sorry about that, the National Enquirer, arm pit of the back street poor excuse for a newspaper. This is what I wanted to say. “Our Siamese cat Misty, was in the Basswood tree, when she communicated with Martians who had landed and wanted to talk to such a funny looking creature.” Or something crazy like that. Because the paper is so wacky, jut the thought of doing that, always gave me a biggle giggle. I still think it would be funny to do, but my childhood catechism ‘thou shallt not lie” still holds me under its ‘good power.’ Meooow! Maybe these talk show hosts should run a contest, for ‘who’s’ got the most disorganized basements and garages, and the highest individual count of ‘items’ they don’t need’ use, or have any sane reason for keeping, but just can’t get rid of them. “Pack rat itus” Boy would we women have fun time with that one! we would probably also all be ‘banned’ from ever making such suggestion to the tv men again. we would drive them all crazy. Lots of fun thinking about that one too.
