Today Isaac and Mommy baked a treat together for the first time. Isaac helped with the egg and the water. He helped drain the blueberries and watched them spin in the mixer. Then he helped do the most important task in all kid-dom — he licked the beater. And the spoon. And the bowl. He must have gotten the hang of it because he was smacking his lips and well. . . . you can see that we just had fun.
Isaac insisted that we were making cookies. Mommy said, “Well, these are fluffy cookies.” Not a good choice for Mommy since “fluffy” is our word for a particularly noxious explosion of gas in the nether regions.
Finally, Isaac settled on “cake” and then “muffin.”
