Everything looks different now.

They have a big, ugly restaurant built there now. Posted by Picasa

  1. Good that you have such a beautiful picture of two special people who made that place blessed when you were there. Thanks heavens for photos! Pictures hold such precious memory connections. For forgetful seniors like myself, we need them! Pictures seem to tell a story don’t they. Whereas authors can ‘paint pictures’ with the words they write, photographs paint a story with pictures. I feel sad when a buiding is removed, or, a building is built, where there was not one there before. It almost seems ‘profane’ to have someone build an ‘ugly restaurant’ where a lovely park use to be. Some people call that ‘progress.’ I call it an invasion of the modern and commercial. With so many eateries in a city the size of Greenville,it seems so thoughtless for city politicians to go and ‘sell’city park property to a business man developer? Sounds like someone made an election promise to get votes, opened their big mouth to please people they wanted votes from, then put both feet in afterwards and couldn;t take them out, the feet I mean! I love the picture. Father Steve, our new since Spring 99, young gifted priest, was so impressed when we told him that we had just celebrated our 46 th. last June 12 th. I told him, we married young, and grew up with our children. Our church teaches that marriage is that which God refects his Gospel through two people committed to each other in the marriage covenant. ‘Chosen partners’ with ‘shared journies.’ Wer’e so blessed for God’s Grace to have empowered us to remain together with the gift of our spouse which, by faith we believe God brought into our lives when He did. So glad you have this beutiful picture. Reminds me how, commercialism, buildings etc., may be able to change the physical appearance of a memorable location. But nothing and no one can take away or remove our wonderful memories. “God gives us memories, so that we can enjoy Roses in January.”
