IN CHRIST ALONE my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
Here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone! – who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save:
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied –
For every sin on Him was laid;
Here in the death of Christ I live.
There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine –
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life’s first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand!

I love that one, one of my faves these days. Have you heard it with the chorus to “The Solid Rock” after the chorus one of the times? Gives me chills. Our guitar player is so expressive when she plays this.
Camille, I just happened by chance,upon Hildago web page, had’nt been on it for ages,and by chance, discovered the shocking mean spirited and so thoughtless, childish and critical opposition to both you and Jocelyn Zichterman. I don’t know where the CEO is coming from, to have gotten so far out’ in ‘the loony stratosphere’ of intensely disliking two fine, Godly women such as yourself and Jocelyn. His attitude and behavior is so stupid, so ignorant, and so beyond any logic and reason, that I wonder if someone has ‘gotten to him’ from BJU, or if ‘space aliens have altered his brain’!!!! I know this sounds funny, but I’m flaming angry at him. There is no genuine christian ‘ spirit or motivation on the critical thread I read,or any compassion for those who have been hurt and troubled by fundamentalism. The man’s attitude and that of the bloggers who agree with him has completely changed! Negative people seem to enthusiastically agree with him. And naturally, he’s gathering like minded thoughtless, judgemental people to agree with him in his folly. I’m so angry at the way he has talked about you on his page, that, once I’ve cooled off, I’m going to ‘let him have it’. Nobody talks about my little sister like that and gets away with it! Is the man jealous or something, about the popularity and success of your dynamic web page? Is he insecure? Probably yes to that one ! Why has he taken this anti woman position? Isn’t that the kind of thing he got away from when he left fundamentalism? I guess he held onto that negative baggage about women, and now it’s coming to the surface. How could he possibly turn against the courageous character of a fine woman like Jocelyn? Out of my respect and gratitude for you, and your wonderful web page, that’s been a bright shining light to so many, I’m going to avoid the Hildago web page altogether, and no longer contribute any comments on the threads. That is, ‘after’ I let him have it. I used to enjoy reading the Hildago posts comments. Now the comments about you and Jocelyn and different ex fundy sights, especially those for wounded ex fundies to share on, now, the Hildago CEO and others who comment, sound like ‘they’re all over the map, and you can’t tell ‘what’ they ‘mean’ or ‘why’ they’re saying what they write. The thread is so confusing, so contradictory, that it’s like ‘religious spin’ and hard to know what on earth has gotten into them and why they’re saying the things they are! I also noticed that the BJU Weblog has gone down or has been taken down. As long as the CEO did that, no problem. But if opposition from fundy land has caused it, that’s a serious attack on freedom of speech and freedom of expression. Any way, keep up the good work, and I’ll be supporting and standing up for you along with your loyal blogging friends. Sincerely, Barbara Quinn.
Thanks, Barbara. Really. Thank you. Yes, the little cadre of egocentric voices whom I irritate have gathered there, and I’ve personally decided to just ignore them. Attention is what they want, so I won’t give it to them. If they are reading this, God bless you all. I’ll see you on the Flip Side.
But thank, Barbara. REALLY!! <3
Your welcome Camille. And I will follow your wise and good example of common sense,and simply not give them the attention they want. Does anyone know why the BJU web blog has gone down? I have such a deep passion for freedom, liberty and free speech, that I do get rather antsy when it looks like such freedom as the internet provides, may be under attack.again thanks for your response and appreciation. And keep up the good work. Your friend and sister, Barb.
